When designing for the table, the focus is balance, restraint and the feeling of holding something that already belongs in your hand.
In the 75-piece Complete Collection, H-Art extends beyond twelve individual place settings into the shared act of serving. A serving spoon, serving fork and soup ladle carry the same flowing design language into the centre of the table, turning the collection’s heart motif from a personal detail into part of the hospitality shared between guests.
Because they belong to everyone rather than to one guest. The individual knives, forks and spoons remain beside a single plate, while the serving pieces move between dishes and people. H-Art therefore connects two different gestures at the table: eating for oneself and offering food to someone else.
The heart-shaped base is more than a romantic signature. Sambonet designed its geometry so the knife can be positioned upright, perpendicular to the tabletop. A decorative idea therefore becomes a functional detail that can change the visual composition of a fully laid table.
H-Art received the Good Design Award in 2008 from The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design. The collection’s strength lies in integrating its defining heart shape into the actual structure of the object rather than applying it as surface decoration.
