Chapter II

Mono V

A single fold gives Mono V strength, rhythm and material efficiency.

Mono V flatware by Mark Braun, shaped around a stabilising V fold in matt-brushed stainless steel.

About the series

Mono V, considered for the table

Mono V is shaped around a V-shaped embossing that runs through the handle. The fold adds stability to a thin sheet of stainless steel while creating a dynamic transition between angular surfaces and organic functional forms. Its equal-width handles also allow the pieces to stack compactly.

The matt-brushed 18/10 stainless steel creates a soft, even surface that makes the changing planes and shadows of the V profile visible. The table knife is made from hardened blade steel and finished with a fine serrated edge.

Mono develops and manufactures design objects in Germany with a focus on precise construction, durable materials and forms that remain relevant over time. Mono V was developed with Berlin designer Mark Braun and introduced in 2022 as Mono's first completely new flatware concept in more than twenty years.
